Joanna co-coached Catholic Women in 2001 and have served as Advisor since the creation of the team.

Prior to the inception of CUAWRFC, Joanna started playing in 1995 for the Washington DC Women's Rugby Football Club (DC Furies) while a senior at CUA.  She  continued playing for the Furies after graduation and through 1998
when she moved to Athens, GA for graduate school and helped re-start the
University of Georgia Women's Rugby Club in 1998. Upon returning to DC in 2000, Joanna resumed playing for the Furies and has held numerous executive positions for the Furies including:
Treasurer (2001 and 2004), General Secretary (2002), Equipment (2003), Forward Selector (2004 and 2005), President (2005 and 2006).

Joanna has played lock for the Mid-Atlantic Women's Rugby All-Star team in 2003, 2004, 2006, and 2007.
